A survey of Taxpayers Association of Oregon and Foundation supporters drew over 420 responses to the question on whether Congress should ban Tik Tok if the company does not divest itself from China ownership.
Roughly 87% approved the ban, 9% disproved, and 4% said undecided.
While the issue was more divided in 2023, it has, based on these results, become more favorable during the 2024 public debate.
These surveys give the public a chance to speak their minds on issues that often speed through Congress and the media cycle.
Note: This was a straw poll of fiscal minded taxpayers in Oregon and represents an unscientific snap shot of people’s feelings at a particular moment in time from a particular group.
