Oregon budget grows faster than population + inflation

A good test of budget growth versus people’s ability to pay is comparing it against population and inflation combined.

These fast-facts show that Oregon state budget grows 13% on average from budget to budget.   13% may be just a number but it represents about $3.5 billion more per budget.

A final comparison is seeing how Oregon ranks verses the other 50 states.  Oregon as a whole brings and spends more than 39 other states for state and local government spending per capita using US Census numbers.
